Colossill: Tell the Colossill viewers out there where you’re from and where do you currently reside?
Sara Sherlock: 

 

Colossill: When and why did you get started? Was it for the glamour? The money? Pure kicks?
I got started modeling a couple years ago. I got started as a way to set short term goals for myself and my love for fitness. It has also helped to increase my self esteem and build relationships with people from around the country.

 

Colossill: Your ethnicity?
Sara Sherlock: I am Philipino and Italian!

Colossill: What are your career goals, hobbies, and zodiac sign?
I currently work in Social Services. I coordinate services for those with Developmental Disabilities. I help them to access services they may be unaware of and encourage them to advocate for themselves. My greatest passion is working out. I started my fitness journey close to 5 years ago when I was at my heaviest weight and lowest self worth. With the help from my younger brother (and best friend) we both turned to the gym as our outlet. I had lost 40 pounds at one point and I thought I was done there. I then turned to bikini competitions where I gained 20 pounds back in muscle and hit the stage! I won first place in my first show in 2/3 classes I entered. I took 1st in Debut and 1st in Novice. My goals are to better myself daily, whether it be mentally and/or physically. My hobbies include cooking, working out, being outside, going on adventures, and spending time with those who are important to me. – I am a Cancer!

 

Colossill: What is something that inspires you?
There are many things that I am inspired by. But mainly, I am inspired by possibility. The unknown, although scary at times, allows us to become anyone we want at any given time.

 

Colossill: Who are some of your favorite models and designers, and why?
A couple of my favorite models include Tianna Gregory and Tyra Banks because they are true to themselves, unapologetically.

Colossill: Which fashion magazines, websites, blogs, and catalogs do you visit most often?
I honestly don’t have a favorite!

 

Colossill: How would you describe your style?
The description of my style varies depending on the day ahead. Generally, I like to be simple and comfortable. But most importantly, I like to feel good in what I have on, whether that be a sports bra and Yoga pants or a perfect jean and wedge.

 

Colossill: Do you have any other experience in the fashion industry (writing, photography, marketing, etc.)? I do not.

Colossill: How do you prepare for a modeling shoot?
My diet and workout regiment is pretty consistent so for me its adding a little cardio here and there depending on my current condition.

 

Colossill: What is fun and rewarding about modeling?
One of my favorite things about modeling, is seeing yourself through someone else’s perspective. As well as capturing a feeling in that very moment. Colaborating with amazing individuals and creating something of your own with them is also another major plus in this industry.

 

Colossill: What advice do you have for other aspiring models?
My biggest piece of advice would be to stay true to who YOU are! These days, its so easy to be swayed by what you see and what others say but there will never be another you and that is your gift.
